DNS Totalitarism? :)
Symantec new service for malware fighting – Public DNS with filtration – provide interesting point of view from security purposes. It’s ok for me that Symantec take all DNS queries and folder them to forbid access to malicious websites. From the other side – who prevents Your ISP install such service and perform cleanup or twiking on Your surfing? For Your own good will – no aggressive sites, no extremists, no political opposition, no porn?
Somehow, need to check if there any possibulity to create any open-source DNS system that managed by community and not influenced by govs and mils directly.
About working this around – add to Your code some netsh commands to execute
Like:
netsh interface ip set dns "[LAN Interface name]" static [Your DNS] you'll need to figure out name of LAN interface, try to use same netsh or wmic or whatever You use... Or - think by Yourself![]()
For the record:
Symantec DNS: 198.153.192.1 and 198.153.194.1
